#DumbAssOfTheDay – January 12, 2015

They say that life can imitate art, but what happens when you use “art” as an excuse for commiting crimes? Well, you get today’s #DumbAssOfTheDay

Former MIT professor, 61-year-old Joseph Gibbons has been arrested and charged with robbery for two seperate bank robberies, both of which he successfully pulled off and when he was finally apprehended, he reportedly told authorities that the robberies were artistic and research he was doing for a film, not a felony crime.

According to the Boston Herald, Gibbons actually told cell mates as well that his robberies were nothing more then “research for a film.” Now whether Gibbons is telling the truth, has yet to be determined. However, in his defense; he did indeed pull out a video camera and record each robbery in progress.

So either he’s going above and beyond the call of duty for his “art,” or this tool is the biggest dumb ass on the planet because he single-handedly gave the DA all the proof one could need for a conviction.
